How to find broken links on Wix

Wix publishes a site you do not SSH into. Links still die in the menu, in repeaters, and in the SEO slug you renamed without a redirect.

Rot to look for

• wixsite.com vs custom domain. Scan the domain in the ads. The free host is a different origin.
• Repeaters / lists bound to a collection. Delete a CMS item, the design still loops a dead URL.
• App Market iframes (booking, shop, blog). A 404 inside the iframe is still a broken experience; the parent page may be 200.
• Renamed SEO URLs without Wix’s redirect. Same class of bug as Shopify handles.
• Lightbox buttons pointing at an old anchor.

Editor preview is not production. Open the live site. Advanced Broken Links Search after the page has painted (Wix is JS-heavy). Then crawl if there are real inner pages.

Wix’s built-in SEO reports help; they are not a substitute for the rendered DOM.

Fix

Use Wix URL redirects for old slugs. Fix the collection, not one repeater cell. Republish. Recheck.
