Advanced Broken Links Search
Last updated: 20.12.2025
This Privacy Policy describes how the Advanced Broken Links Search Chrome extension ("we", "our", or "the extension") handles information when you use our extension.
The extension does not collect, process, or transmit any personal or sensitive user data as defined by the Chrome Web Store policies.
1. Data Collection and Storage
We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal data or user information.
The Advanced Broken Links Search extension operates entirely locally within your browser. All data processing happens on your device.
Local Storage
The extension uses Chrome's built-in storage APIs to save your preferences:
- Settings Storage (
chrome.storage.sync): Your extension settings (request method, scan preferences, ignore selectors, etc.) are stored locally and synced across your Chrome browsers if you're signed in to Chrome. - Cache Storage (
chrome.storage.local): Temporary cache of link check results is stored locally on your device to improve performance.
You can clear this data at any time:
- Via Chrome Settings → Privacy and security → Clear browsing data → Extensions
- Or by uninstalling the extension
2. Network Requests
The extension makes HTTP requests to check the status of links and images on web pages you visit. These requests are:
- Made directly from your browser to the target URLs
- Used only to check HTTP status codes (200, 404, redirects, etc.)
- Not logged or stored on any external servers
- Not shared with third parties
No intermediate servers or proxy services are involved in the link checking process.
All requests are initiated directly by the user's browser and follow standard browser security policies.
3. Permissions Explained

5. Data Sharing
